For the third time WRAD, Inc. hosted a Super Bowl party at the beautiful El Guapo Sports Club in Hollywood, California with over 100 deaf and hard of hearing people that attended, plus hundreds more of hearing people that shared the club to watch the Super Bowl on many television sets.

The club gave us a private area for our group and we had some TV sets that were closed captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Over $3,000 in prizes were given away, including a plasma TV. Bruce Gross, the WRAD CEO/President won the $100 pool for the WRAD group and $20 was donated to WRAD. The New York Giants beat the New England Pirates and we had a great time at the club. There were some hearing people, including waitresses that knew sign language and we had a good time with them.

Reynaldo Llarena was the Chairman of the WRAD Super Bowl Party and it was a big success. Our group agreed that it was fun, especially having the hearing friends around us so it was more of a mainstream environment. We are looking forward to having our 4th Super Bowl party next year!

Thanks to the following committee members who made the event possible- Reynaldo Llarena, Chair, Mark Brudney, Assistant to Rey and Bruce. Rey and Bruce who were the photographers for the WRAD website and Rey helped coordinate the football pools for cash prizes.
