Congratulations to some of the bicycle riders for making all the way from Santa Monica Pier to Hermosa Beach and back. We had 16 riders. Nine riders arrived late but they got lost in Playa del Rey and didn't reach Hermosa Beach. The temperature in the San Fernando Valley was baked at 103°F but the temperature in Santa Monica was around 71°F. The weather was perfect for WRAD Bike Day. We had a great time and little sunburn. Craig Uyeda rode electric scooter with his wife. He built his prototype dual seater electric scooter in which he had called LimoScooter. Craig had flat tires twice due to the weight of his batteries and his wife sitting behind, see picture below. Nine riders who had arrived late were not in the picture.

WRAD will be happy to host another Bike Day in August and September 2008. Come along and escape the heat in the valley when the temperature reaches triple digit. Keep an eye on WRAD website for incoming bike trip.
